You Left & Deconstructed Toxic Christianity – So Why Do You Still Abandon Yourself?

You thought you could leave “her” behind – your inner Good Christian Girl – the version of you you used to be – the version you’ve outgrown..

And you have tried. Maybe you left the church you grew up in, changed denominations, found new people.. maybe even deconstructed your faith..

But somehow – you’re not completely free of the identity you inherited, the identity that never fit, that required your constant compliance, silence, shrinking and pretzelling just to receive an ounce of belonging, power, acceptance, or even love.

And maybe you even see that she – this part of you that still sometimes makes an appearance – is at odds with the authentic, unapologetic leader you are now.. leading to alot of frustration.

You see – the Good Christian Girl Identity doesn’t just STAY in the past – she’s here with you right now, in your business when you silence yourself instead of owning who you are and what you do, she’s in your brand when you keep to the mould of what you “should” do vs fully owning who you ARE, and she’s in your energy when you step into PROVING ENERGY, chasing misaligned goals and clients – instead of bringing your work into alignment that would leave you energised and excited.

The thing is though, the Good Christian Girl Identity isn’t about knowledge – we can KNOW in our minds that women are just as significant as men, and deserve a voice – but we still censor ourselves in moments we want to take a stand – particularly as female leaders.

The Good Christian Girl is not about knowledge – she has been conditioned through teachings, through osmosis, through time. Over and over again she has been affirmed for being small, compliant, quiet and fitting a certain mould..

This is where her safety comes from. And so we cannot simply just work harder to change her – we must address the roots of the pattern where the identity actually lives – in your body and subconscious mind.

And so trying to deconstruct your beliefs.

Giving yourself “permission”

Working hard to change your behaviour

Finding community that “understands”

Is not going to work. And over the last 14+ years I’ve been obsessively studying what does.
