Break Free From Mother Wounds (Sovereignty, The Holy Spirit & Breaking Generational Curses)

As former Good Christian Girls, it’s often at the feet of our mothers where we learned our first embodied lessons of self-abandonment disguised under the label of holiness.

Where we first learned to silence both ourselves and our inner knowing; as if something were deeply wrong with both feminine intuition and voice.

Where we learned to suppress our needs and desires; as if experiencing joy or pleasure itself somehow made us “bad” and “selfish”.

Where we first learned our value as women was in our serving and serving to the point of burnout; or that we were less valuable than men purely because of our gender.

These were never lessons we were sat down and taught in the same way that we learned the alphabet, but it are lessons absorbed, while sitting at the feet of our mothers, like the dutiful Good Christian Girls we were conditioned to be.

Absorbed in such a way that, when we move outside of the constraints of these “lessons”, that our nervous systems become dysregulated.. and we experience upper limits in life today.

As adults it can feel as if questioning this, bringing it up and initiating any kind of accountability is bringing women down or “mother blaming” women for the failures and impacts of a patriarchal society.

This isn’t about mother blaming. It’s worth noting that as a generation we have access to so much more freedom, support and resources than our mothers, grandmothers and generations before them ever did and this is worthy of reflection..

AND – While they may have done the best they could, there are very real impacts leading from not ONLY their lack of freedom, but their choices bleeding into our lives today.

This doesn’t mean we hate our mothers but it can create a complex relationship with both ourselves and our mothers that resurfaces annually on Mother’s Day..

And this is something to be grieved and healed.

But alongside the grieving – a complex walk I have personally taken –

The most beautiful thing I’ve experienced along this journey of healing and awakening is this:

I didn’t need to have the perfect childhood

The perfect mother

The perfect upbringing and mothering

In order to be nourished, heard, comforted and supported NOW..

Or in order to break free of the religious and familial conditioning that leads to automatic self silencing, suppression, stifling and self abandonment now.

The most beautiful thing is that God himself has stepped into not just my past wounds –

But into my world now, not just as perfect father healing my past, guiding me to truth, sovereignty, and secure attachment and so much more – but also in the role of mother.

This was not something I was expecting at all, as I grew up with the SCRIPTURE IS CLEAR crowd, God is always a man..

And it’s not even about the gender of God.

But one day was speaking to God while doing some inner work..

And was saying to him – “God I feel so healed from my father wounds. I feel so much more secure and protected and safe. And I deeply feel that YOU are now my actual Father which has been so healing and nourishing.. but I don’t feel that way about my mother wounds.”

“I sense that you are strong and protective as my Father, but when it comes to doing the inner work around my mother wounds, sometimes I just want a mother to hold me, to comfort me.”

And this was when he revealed to me that, if I allowed, the Holy Spirit has this same role (of “mother”) in my life and it blew my mind. That God in his multi faceted nature always provides exactly what I need.

The comfort

Nourishment

Feeling heard

Being supported

Without the dysfunction or strings that often come with it is available to me.

That day I learned at a deeper level a lesson I want to share with you today; that He himself is my comfort.

He is the perfect nurturing, consistent comfort and constant source of nourishment and he is here for me – and you.

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.” Isaiah 66:13

God himself has become the foundation on which I am being rebuilt into the Spiritually Wealthy Woman God designed me to be – not from people-pleasing, performance or self abandonment – but from a deep resurrection from the generational toxicity and religious dysfunction handed down to me that only brought death to my life.

And that simple thing – that the Holy Spirit IS my mother, whispering life and comfort into places I previously believed unreachable, life into my conditioned perceived limits and awakening into my most powerful, sovereign, Spiritual Wealthy future

Co-creating with God in all his facets and quirks and qualities

To do my life’s work, and be the woman who owns her voice, her message and writing this today

Has been so healing and life changing.

So today my challenge for you today is this –

Yes today may be challenging and complex but you are not that little Good Christian Girl anymore who shrinks back and silences..

You are no longer a powerless little girl..

You are sovereign, strong and incredible woman destined to release incredible legacy and work into the world.

So here’s the challenge:

Invite THE Holy Spirit (be very clear you only want to speak to The Holy Spirit) about any lack that is surfacing for you today, whether that’s a feeling of current lack in your relationship with your mother, past lack from what you felt you didn’t receive or the future impacts you project from it..

And allow the resurrection and the LIFE to guide you into wholeness in those places so that you can live – not out of generational curses, but from generational life and legacy.

Your Identity: The Shortcut To Sustainable Impact (without burnout)

I’ve been thinking about something I see so often in the brilliant, driven, world-changing women who have already achieved so much – and yet still feel that tug of burnout, the weight of “doing it all,” and the constant pull to prove themselves worthy.

It’s not that they’re not powerful. It’s not that they have 2 personalities.. it’s that they’re still carrying the identity conditioning of the “Good Christian Girl” or the “Good Girl”.

They find themselves dimming, dulling and diluting themselves at the oddest of times! And they KNOW this is not who they are.. but they don’t quite know how to be free to be fully themselves without this popping into their sphere.

Here’s the thing: You don’t need another strategy.
You need a recalibration.

A shifting identity, to release outdated conditioning – the “not self” – and instead owning the God-led woman you were created to be – the one who moves from significance, not for it.

This is what it looks like:

Good Christian Girls dim their voice, vibrance & authority…
God-led women own them & set the world on fire with their impact.

Good Christian Girls measure success by approval, attention & their ability to soothe those around them…
God-led women measure success by the presence of God & the impact they co-create.

Good Christian Girls move, create & serve for significance.
God-led women move, create & serve from significance.

If you’re a high-achieving female entrepreneur or leader – you already know hustle, burnout, and proving yourself are a dead end.

Your next level isn’t about doing more. It’s about identity recalibration — from “Good Christian Girl” conditioning into your full authority as a God-led woman with global and generational impact.

This is for:
🐚 Visionary female leaders, entrepreneurs, and CEOs who are already in action, achieving results, but are ready to refine, accelerate, and amplify their impact.
🐚 Women who’ve outgrown old patterns of “Good Christian Girl” or people-pleasing energy and are ready to rise unapologetically in God-led alignment.
🐚 High-achieving women who want to move faster, smarter, and more powerfully with clarity, courage, and excitement.

Your courage ignites.
Your voice and message sharpens.
Your impact multiplies 100x – without burnout.

This is your invitation to realign to the faith + magic + mission + message that unlocks your divine brilliance and unleashes the unapologetic, unstoppable leader you are created to be.

Click here to join The Recalibration Foundations Mini Course – your first strategic step to the ultimate realignment and anchoring into your God-led identity.

The world doesn’t need another “Good Girl” – it needs the God-aligned leader only you can be to make the impact only you were born to make.

Myth: “You just need to use your voice”

I had to share this with you, as I’m seeing some coaches talk about “using your voice” online as it seems to be the new popular thing to claim as your niche –

.. but their clients will wonder why their results don’t last because their work is not deep enough..

And as someone who has been working with hyper-achieving leading ladies for 16+ years in this space – I want to share with you why.

One of the biggest myths female visionaries, entrepreneurs & leaders who want to shed good girl conditioning & unlock more of their voice are told:

“You just need to use your voice”..

This is why this kind of teaching does not work:

1.You need to use your voice from your deepest, most honest level of authenticity..

(or you’ll simply be louder, but still speaking from religious/familial/societal conditioning instead of The Authentic YOU)

2.Your voice needs to be backed by unapologetic personal sovereignty..

(or despite your voice being louder, and even your words will be different – your energy will still be screaming “Good Girl”)

3.Your voice needs to be amplified by a clear message for your revolution..

(or you’ll just become more noise, lost in an already crowded online space)

4. You voice needs to be backed by unshakeable faith – deeply knowing you are protected & sustained by God himself.

(or you won’t be able to take a stand for the things that matter and stay on-purpose, while others disagree or even throw hate your way and hold the energy of being fully yourself)

This is The Recalibration Experience.

Recalibrate your faith, your identity, voice & magic, your message & brand, and your revolution so everything you touch is aligned clean, focused, magnetic. This isn’t a micro step — it’s a strategic reset that changes the trajectory of everything that comes next.

  • Immediate clarity: Walk away with a reset in faith, identity, and message that shows you — with certainty — that you’re not “too far gone,” “too late,” or “too much.”
  • Unlock of possibility: Feel the magnetic shift of moving from your God-led, undimmable self. The results? Clean, precise, powerful energy behind every move.
  • The beginning: You’ll leave knowing — in your bones — that the woman you’ve dreamt of being isn’t a fantasy. She’s already here, only REFINEMENTS away from her next level and vision!

These are the first steps of your most potent realignment in real time, custom-designed to bring freedom, clarity and potency to your world and brand!

Backed by my proven 4-part framework developed from founding multiple premium brands and working with hyper-achieving entrepreneurial women to fully unleash themselves & their voices for over 16+ years.

Dear Erika Kirk.

I wrote this post on Facebook this week and felt to share it with you..

This is written entrepreneurial woman to entrepreneurial woman. I have worked in this space for over a decade and watch as the same Good Girl/Good Christian Girl patterns surface again and again..

This is not as a political piece. It’s about the masks we wear, the way we believe we have to push through and the deep rest from the pressures of the world – the weight of obligation and expectation – that’s available to every one of us.

Enjoy x

__________________________

This is how I would guide Erika Kirk right now, as a Spiritual Guide & Leadership Mentor for hyper-achieving women, based on what I see:

(Please note: A normal client relationship is based on what I see + potent questions to uncover truth + what I see in the answers. This analysis is only based on what I see so is understandably limited, and making some assumptions).

I just finished watching your speech last night

And phewww absolutely incredible that you had the strength to stand up and do that. I know so many are standing in awe of you right now..

And I can see you did it for Charlie and his cause, and for God. But I also see the tremendous toll and cost on you.

Your face that said you were anything but ready to forgive

Your eyes that still hold tremendous and understandable levels of unprocessed anger

Your body that cannot have had much time this week to rest, reset, process and grieve in between all of the obligations.

Time to be human.

Time to be a grieving wife.

Time to break apart.

And I also see a woman who, like I used to be, fully believes that she has to hold it all together right now for everyone else..

A woman who is so good at wearing that good Christian woman mask – and is celebrated for it:

To sacrifice all of her needs on the altar of obligation and “spreading the gospel”.

A woman carrying the weight of the salvation of the world along with the weight of her own grief while making challenging decisions, running companies, and being a mum to two children who just lost their daddy..

And I can only imagine how bone-deep your exhaustion must run.

As the adrenaline wears off

And the admiration of the crowd dies down that was numbing over the heart wrenching loss and deep shock you experienced

And the grief sets in..

I hope you’ll allow yourself time to be

With yourself

And with God

Without the heavy mask of being the perfect Christian wife and woman..

Without feeling like the salvation of the world is yours to carry (Because it’s not, and never was..)

Without worrying what others will think or how they will react to you taking what you need

And without the pressure to keep showing up as you have done this week. I hope you’ll find another way to honour Charlie’s legacy

That doesn’t require your complete self abandonment, your perfection, your performance

Without obligation and guilt

Where you find another way to cope other than the good Christian woman mask

Where you’ll not only be focused on giving love but that you will stop long enough to receive it, too

And where you’ll allow God to fully carry you, to surrender, release and allow his peace and rest to enter your realm.

If Charlie’s work was truly a move of and with God.. Then his legacy and the work will never fall apart

Because the source is still here.

And that source is holding space for you right now to fall apart

The world will understand if we don’t see you for twelve months because you can’t get out of bed

The world will understand if you need to get daily therapy, curl up on your Pyjamas, hold your babies and weep.

And I’m sure Charlie, even if only for the way that that man looked at you with that grin and sparkle in his eyes, will understand your need to grieve the loss of him and all that you had together.

The only thing that matters right now in your world is the wellbeing of this beautiful woman

Who has lost so much

So that she has the capacity to look after herself

And her two beautiful kids after such shock and loss.

 Jesus is saying

Come and sit by me

And let me carry you through this

The rest of the world can wait.

Spiritually Stuck High-Achievers: The Trap of Learning About God

Is learning about God keeping you wandering in the desert, spinning your wheels?

When we’ve been through hurt — especially church hurt and religious trauma – it’s so easy to go into “Learning Mode” = emotional and intimacy avoidance.

And for high-achieving women, it can be even sneakier.

Because we’re so used to figuring things out. Solving our own problems. Performing and achieving our way to success.

So when it comes to God? We default to over-functioning. Consuming books, podcasts, Bible studies… hoping it’ll bridge the gap between what we believe and what we feel. Showing up, ticking the boxes, but still feeling distant.

And for so many of us – God has actually been PAINFUL. 😣

And when the pain doesn’t make sense, when the wounds are deep, the mind tries to “understand” instead of surrender. We intellectualise the pain, rather than wrestling with God in it.

I see this all the time in high-performing leaders who love God and know Scripture – but secretly feel abandoned, not enough, or like maybe they’re still being punished.

There’s a deep dissonance that happens when the beliefs we were taught –

“God is good,” “God is all-powerful,” “God loves me” –
collide with the real lived pain, disappointment, and trauma we’ve carried.

Here’s how it impacted me:

I got married young (as many of us Good Christian Girls do), ended up in a toxic marriage, got diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis, was in constant physical pain, and then divorced and single again by age 27. I also went through deeply controlling religious environments and their spiritual abuse… but that’s a story for another day 😉

And in the aftermath, healing from the marriage brought up all of my childhood stuff too – so much felt silenced and suppressed in me.

It was like a never-ending recovery – and I truly felt like God had abandoned me. Or that I was being punished. Again.

Here’s what didn’t work:

– Memorising scripture.
– Going to Bible study and church every single week
– Serving in church until I burned out (with full-blown cPTSD)
– Talking to pastors or being prayed for

I tried all of that – because I’m the type who digs in and does the work. I show up and do the thing.

But this wasn’t a matter of discipline. It was a matter of disconnection.

What actually worked was understanding how my mind works – consciously and subconsciously – and going through a very specific process to regulate, rewire, and repair the dissonance.

Not just spiritually, but neurologically and emotionally.

So that I could stop being triggered into performance, dysregulated by shame, and stuck in overdrive learning mode, always trying to prove I was good enough for God’s love and care.

Because deep down, I believed He loved everyone but me.
That He was good to others, but not to me.
That if I wasn’t “perfect,” I wouldn’t be protected.

But today, I can stand before you – not just as a coach, not just as a leader, but as a daughter – and say:

Despite everything…

GOD IS GOOD.
God loves me.
He is restoring every inch of my past.
He is rebuilding me in my surrender.

And the result is the most impactful, joyful, peaceful, and soul-nourishing existence I’ve ever known — with Him.

And I want that for you too. Not just because it’s what you were made for, but because you are worthy of that kind of love and peace too.

If you’re a woman who everyone else sees as successful – but you secretly feel stuck in a spiritual desert, spinning your wheels and wondering why you still don’t feel “enough” or close to God…

Maybe it’s time to stop performing and start wrestling.

Maybe it’s time to stop proving and start co-creating.

Maybe it’s time to leave the desert behind and finally enter the promised land.

I’ve been through the journey, have marked the pathway through all the trees, and am prepping the tools to give you as we speak.

This is The Divine Reset. ✨ Coming soon.

How To Choose The Perfect Brand Name?

How to Choose the Perfect Business Name

Is coming up with the perfect business name taking up way too much of your time? Are you tired of finding a name you love, only to discover it’s already taken? Feeling like you’re going a little crazy trying to get it right?

You’re not alone! I get it—choosing a business name, brand name, or company name can feel overwhelming, especially when you know how important it is to get it just right. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to rebrand, the pressure to pick a name that fits and stands the test of time can feel intense.

Maybe you’ve been in business for a while, but something just doesn’t feel aligned anymore. You’re ready to move in a new direction, but your current name just doesn’t fit. Or maybe you’re launching something new and want to make sure the name truly reflects your vision. Either way, it’s completely normal to feel stuck!

The truth is, choosing a business name without a clear plan or strategy is HARD. It’s even harder if you’re still figuring out who you are as a brand and how to articulate that. You deserve to have a name that reflects your essence, resonates with your audience, and stands out in your industry.

Here are three powerful tips to help you move forward:

1. Have a Checklist Don’t wing it! When choosing a brand name, it’s essential to have a guide—a list of must-haves and key elements that your name needs to meet. A checklist helps you stay grounded and makes the process less overwhelming. You’ll know if the business name you’re considering measures up and fits your brand vision.

2. Make It Timeless A great brand name doesn’t just work today—it holds up for years to come. You don’t want to choose a name that feels trendy now but becomes outdated or irrelevant down the track. Invest the time to create a name rooted in your brand strategy. Think long-term, not just quick fixes!

3. Set a Deadline It’s easy to get stuck in endless brainstorming and second-guessing. While it’s important to be intentional, it’s equally important not to let fear or perfectionism keep you from moving forward. Give yourself a deadline to make a decision—then commit and go all in!

Ready to move past the overwhelm and finally choose a business name that feels aligned and powerful? My Aligned Brand Name Workbook is here to help. It’s a completely fillable PDF designed to guide you through the process, so you walk away with a name you love—one that positions your brand to stand out, connect, and thrive.

The Aligned Brand Name Workbook: Steal my $6K Step-by-Step Framework to Creating the Perfect Name for Your Soul-Aligned Business

The Top 8 Brand Naming Mistakes You Need To Avoid

The Top 8 Business Naming Mistakes You Need To Avoid

Today, I’ll be showing you which MISTAKES you need to avoid like the plague so you can come up with a perfect business name that will stand the test of time!

The real key to choosing the perfect name that lasts is to name your business without making any mistakes. Sounds so simple, but how can you do this when you don’t know what the top 8 business naming mistakes are? Let me in on my tips!

#1 – Don’t Listen To 99% Of Those Giving You Naming Advice For some reason, business naming brings out the expert in everyone around you! Literally EVERYONE will have an opinion when it comes to your business name. I like to think of it like choosing a hairdresser. How do you choose a hairdresser?! You choose someone who has amazing hair, duh! Likewise, only listen to advice from those who actually have brilliant business names and an amazing brand! (Note to self: this generally excludes your mum, husband, sister-in-law, and friend!)

Listen to someone who practices what they preach and can get you the SAME RESULT.

#2 – Allow Time To Find The Right Name So many entrepreneurs want to rush business naming and end up rebranding simply because they didn’t allow themselves enough time to get it sorted. Schedule a proper amount of time to give your creative juices a chance to flow. For me, this is generally around 4 weeks.

#3 – Don’t Limit Based On Keywords Some people try to stuff their business name with keywords, thinking it will help them rank higher in SEO. But as I understand it, the SEO benefits don’t outweigh the huge advantage of crafting a name that shapes how your potential clients think and feel about you as a brand.

Choosing a keyword-rich business name can also mean boxing yourself into a specific location or service (e.g., Central Coast Photography), which limits your future world domination plans that you don’t even know exist yet! SEO is just ONE marketing strategy, not the sole factor to consider.

#4 – Don’t Fence Yourself In The worst thing you can do is box yourself in by product, service, geography, or even your married name. As entrepreneurs, we naturally evolve, pivot, and grow. If your name is too specific, it can hinder that process. Choose a name that leaves room for expansion and future possibilities.

#5 – Forget What You Sell Unless you’re naming a specific product, don’t feel pressured to include your service in the business name. Modern naming methodology allows for more flexibility. A name that ties you to one offering can limit you when your business evolves.

#6 – Change the Least Number of Times Most people don’t cope well with change, and that includes your customers and clients! Nail your business name the first (or second) time around to build trust and brand equity. Changing your name too often confuses your audience and dilutes your identity.

#7 – It’s Not ALL About You Surprising, right? Your business name isn’t just about you—it’s about your dream clients too. And while I’m ALL for alignment – when choosing a name, always consider how it resonates with them rather than just reflecting your personal preferences.

#8 – Avoid Generic Business Name Generators Is your product or service generic? Probably not! Choose a name that reflects the uniqueness of your brand rather than relying on a random name generator. A little TLC and intentionality will yield a name that feels right.

The Aligned Brand Name Workbook: Steal my $6K Step-by-Step Framework to Creating the Perfect Name for Your Soul-Aligned Business

How to Create a Powerful Brand Name That Stands Out

The KPIs of a Powerful Brand Name

Does this sound anything like you? You’re driven, ambitious, and always pushing forward. You’re either in startup mode or gearing up to relaunch your business. You’re ready to make moves—but there’s one major roadblock: coming up with a killer business name.

You know that nailing your name is key to moving forward. It’s holding up everything—registering the name, securing domain names, trademarking, kickstarting logo design, and even setting up your business bank accounts. It’s frustrating and exhausting, especially when you know that slapping just any name on it could cost you big opportunities later.

The right name is a powerful asset—it’s how you attract the right attention, get taken seriously, build a timeless brand, and create an identity that just fits. Here are the four key performance indicators of a truly powerful business name:

1. It Attracts (the Right) Attention Your business name should be a magnet for your dream clients. The goal is to get noticed by the RIGHT people—those who resonate with your vision and values. When your name sparks curiosity, it opens doors to conversations, collaborations, and leads. Imagine introducing yourself at a networking event: “Hi, I’m Leah from The Golden Goose.” Instantly, people want to know what you do and the story behind your brand—giving you a natural opportunity to share your passion.

2. It Gets You Taken Seriously Your brand name should instantly convey credibility and authority. When your name is powerful and intentional, you attract high-caliber clients and partners who respect your expertise and are willing to invest. Don’t settle for a cheap logo or a cliché name—take yourself seriously, and others will too. A name like “Ezy Websites” might seem catchy, but it doesn’t position you as an expert in your field. Choose a name that matches the level of success and respect you’re aiming for.

3. It’s Timeless A timeless name doesn’t just fit now—it grows with you. Too many entrepreneurs box themselves in with names tied to a specific service or trend, only to find they need to rebrand when their business evolves. A timeless brand name leaves room for growth and innovation while staying true to your core identity. Avoid fleeting trends and instead focus on names that will stand strong five, ten, or even twenty years from now.

4. It Just Fits Your brand name should feel authentic and aligned, not forced or outdated. If you’ve pivoted, evolved, or changed direction, your name should reflect that growth. It should feel like your favorite outfit—something you’re proud to wear and confident to present to the world. The right name resonates not just with your audience but with YOU.

When your business name ticks all four of these boxes, it becomes a powerful asset that supports your success. Don’t rush the process—take the time to get it right, and you’ll build a brand that lasts.

Spiritual People-Pleasing

Can we talk about Spiritual People-Pleasing?

Because people-pleasing itself is a pattern.

Self-abandonment is a pattern..

And it’s a pattern that many of us picked up at an early age – learning that we weren’t free to be fully ourselves, that we had to twist, and force and manoeuvre our way to receiving the love, belonging and acceptance we desperately craved.

And here’s the thing about Spiritual People-Pleasing:

Having a grounded, honest, authentic relationship with God has been one of the most nourishing and healing aspects of my spiritual awakening..

Especially after being so deeply enmeshed in religious communities and familial relationships where I felt that in order to receive love, connection, belonging, I had to abandon myself – by performing, being perfect, overworking, proving my value by serving, putting on a happy shiny facade, pretzeling myself to fit a certain “Good Christian Girl” or “good Christian Woman” or “perfect daughter” mould that was expected of me..

Often expected of me in the name of God, as if this behaviour was somehow what made God happy with me.

So when I circled back to relationship with God after going through a whole lot of life, trauma, challenge; it made so much sense that I’d be projecting this all onto God – anxious and anticipating what I thought he desires me to be.

Stepping back into old patterns of performing for him, pretzeling myself and essentially stepping into a FAWN RESPONSE with the king of the universe (yes it was as messed up as it sounds).

When all I really had to do was learn to be with him – securely attached – in the present moment.

With nothing to hidenothing to prove and nothing to try to be, I can bathe in his goodness, deeply connect to his heart and find a peaceful sanctuary I’d only ever dreamed of.

It might sound complicated; but it’s actually quite simple. He loves you, wants relationship with you, and.. if you let him.. he’ll hold your hand and guide you into all healing and truth so that you are FREE to be fully you, with Him in the way that you are designed.

This is The Divine Reset.
